Birdsedge Challenge
6m Multi-Terrain Race

The Birdsedge Challenge is a 6 mile multi-terrain race, with approximatley 3 miles over mainly quiet rural roads and 3 miles on tracks and footpaths. The race starts and finishes on Birdsedge Lane, off the main A629 Huddersfield - Sheffield road. There is ample car parking available for runners and supporters on the recreation field off Birdsedge Lane. Refreshments will be available throughout the morning on the recreation field. Travellers 6 Road Race 2011
The Travellers 6 Road Race took place on Sunday 18 December, in bright and cold conditions that were ideal for running. A field of 168 runners completed the course, with David Thompson of Barnsley AC a convincing winner in an excellent time of 33.44. Richard Anderson of Holmfirth Harriers came in second, with Joseph Mann of Penistone FPR taking third place. Ross McClelland was the first Traveller home, finising 9th in 37.50.
Kaeti McKenzie made it a double for Barnsley AC, winning the ladies race in 40.15, ahead of Amy Green of Keighley and Craven and Jacqui Khoueiry of Holmfirth. Lesley Leggett was the first Traveller, taking 4th place in 42.12.
