Travellers 6 Road Race
Sunday 15 December
The Travellers 6 road race took place in bright and cool conditions with a strong wind on the tops. 189 runners completed the course with David Turnbull of Holmfirth Harriers the winner in an excellent time of 34:01. David finished well clear of Joe Mann of Penistone FR in second place and Darren Burnley of Pusdey Pacers who was third.
Fiona Davies of Kingstone Runners won the ladies race in 38:26, ahead of Nichola McNally of Denby Dale and Kerrry Storrar of Barnsley AC.
The Holmfirth team of David Turnbull, Daniel Shaw and Brandon Holroyd won the men's team competition, whilst there was success for home Club Denby Dale Travellers in the ladies team race, with Nichola McNally, Jo Worboys and Rosalind Bedford taking victory.

Mickleden Straddle Fell Race
The Mickleden Straddle fell race took place on Sunday 2 February 2014, over a 14.3 mile course with 2431ft of climb, starting and finishing at Langsett Barn. After the wet and windy weather of recent days, the runners enjoyed a bright but breezy day for the run.
Tim Ellis of Calder Valley was the overall winner in an excellent time of 1:45:42, well ahead of Any Swift of Penistone and Ian Mills (U/A). This was a repeat success for Tim who won the race in 2013.
Calder Valley completed the double with Helen Fines the first lady home in 1:54:24, with Jo Bolton of Kimberworth and Lisa Grantham of Pensby taking second and third positions. This was also a repeat success for Helen who won the ladies race last year.
The Penistone team of Andy Swift, Damian Kilpin and Andy Shelbourne won the men's team race with the Pensby team of Lisa Grantham, Ceri Lyn Baker and Pat Peers taking the ladies team prize. Andy Green and Claire Wilkinson were the first finishers from home Club Denby Dale Travellers.. Full results are available via the link on this page.
